SHANE HUFFMAN UPDATE
“Right now, I’m just exploring my options, but I want people to know that I’m available,” said Huffman, who spent much of 2007 driving for Dale Earnhadrt Jr.’s JR Motorsports team in the #88 NAVY Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series.  “I’ve had a lot of talks with a lot of people so far and there are some things in the works, but nothing is concrete right now.  I’m just taking my time and making sure that whatever I decide to do is the right opportunity for me.”

Huffman’s 2007 season-best finish in the NASCAR Busch Series was a fifth-place run at Kentucky Speedway.  In all, he had one top-five and four top-10 finishes during the season.  He also finished fifth at Memphis Motorsports Park in 2006, when he ran a limited Busch Series schedule.
Former NASCAR Busch Series driver and 2003 USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Champion Shane Huffman is once again a bachelor again in the motorsports world.  And the 33-year-old is exploring his options, looking for the perfect marriage.

Huffman has been officially released from his contract with JR Motorsports and is now looking for other racing opportunities.
“This was a tough season,” added Huffman.  “I really feel that I did the best that I could with the opportunities that were given to me.  We had some really strong runs that showed my potential and showed what kind of job I could do on the track.  I’m happy with the results.  Its just too bad that others didn’t feel that I lived up the my potential.”

Huffman’s season has been full of ups and downs.  However, he wanted to make sure the people that stood right behind him got their just fill.

“First off, I want to thank all of those that have supported me for my entire career.  I gained a lot of new fans this year being associated with Dale Jr. and they’ve been very supportive of me as well.

“I also really want to thank the NAVY and everyone associated with that.  They gave me some of the best experiences of my life and I gained even a larger respect for what those in the NAVY and all of our Armed Forces go through and deal with on a day-to-day basis.”

Huffman’s career has included two track championships at Hickory Motor Speedway (in 1996 and1999).  He was also the 1999 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Blue Ridge Region Champion.  In 2003, he came into his own with the USAR Pro Cup Series, winning both the Southern Division crown and the National Title.  He was also the Southern Division titlist in 2005.
